Privacy Policy

We value your privacy and have designed this SkyBoostX: Storage Cleaner to respect and protect your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights under global data protection laws. By using our app, you consent to the practices described herein. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Information We Collect

The app does not require you to create an account or provide personal information. However, to enable its features, the app requests access to certain data on your device only with your permission:

  • Contacts: With your consent, we read your Contacts list solely to identify duplicate contacts. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded or shared externally.
  • Photos & Videos: With your consent, we scan your device’s photo and video library to detect duplicates or perform video compression. This media content is analyzed locally on the device for duplicates or conversion; we do not send your actual images or videos to any server.
  • Device and Usage Data: We may collect non-identifying device information (e.g. device model, OS version) and app usage data (e.g. feature usage, session counts) for analytics purposes. This helps us improve app performance and user experience. We do not collect personal content such as messages, emails, or precise location. Any logs or crash reports we gather are anonymized and used only to debug and enhance the app.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g. health, race, religion) or financial information. If your app store or device prompts you to grant permissions (Contacts, Photos, etc.), you may decline; the app will still function with reduced features.

Data Use and Processing

All personal data accessed (Contacts, Photos/Videos) is processed locally on your device. The app’s core features (scanning storage, finding duplicates, compressing videos, creating a secure folder) operate without transmitting your private files to any server. As Apple’s guidelines note, data processed only on the user’s device is not considered “collected” by the app. In other words, your Contacts and media are analyzed on-device and remain on your device at all times.

When performing the internet speed test, the app sends minimal test data (similar to a ping) to speed-test servers. Only aggregated network measurement data is used to calculate speed; no personal identifiers or full browsing content are collected or shared.

If you choose to use the Secure Folder, any files you place there are encrypted and stored locally on your device. The app does not sync this folder to the cloud. As one source explains, all encryption and access controls are considered security measures to safeguard.

In summary, we do not store your personal data on any external server, nor do we share your Contacts or media with third parties. All data processing happens on-device, which both protects your privacy and minimizes regulatory burden.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with external partners in the following limited cases:

  • Analytics Providers: We may use third-party analytics services (e.g. Firebase, Google Analytics) to understand how the app is used. These services collect anonymized usage statistics (feature usage, session length, error reports) and device identifiers in a de-identified form. This helps us improve the app. No personal identifiers (name, email, content) are included.
  • Advertising Networks: If you see ads in our app, they are delivered by third-party ad networks. These networks may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve ads. However, we will request your explicit opt-in before accessing any advertising ID, per Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency rules. If you do not consent, ads (if any) will be non-personalized.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights, e.g. in response to subpoenas or to prevent fraud.

All third parties we use are required by contract to protect your data and use it only as needed to provide their services.

Global Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable privacy laws worldwide, including:

  • GDPR (EU): We honor rights such as access, correction, and deletion of personal data. We use data only with lawful basis (e.g. your consent or app functionality). We do not process data beyond what is necessary for the app’s features.
  • CCPA/CPRA (California): California users have rights to know what personal data we collect, and to request deletion of it. We do not “sell” personal data under this law.
  • Turkey’s PDPL (KVKK): Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law (No. 6698) is based on EU data protection principles. We adhere to its requirements, providing transparency and handling personal data responsibly.
  • Other Laws: Where relevant, we also consider laws like COPPA (children’s privacy) and similar regulations in other countries.

We will update this policy as needed to remain compliant with new laws.

Consent and Permissions

We only access data with clear user permission. For example, when you tap “Allow” for Contacts or Photo access, you are consenting to that data being used for the app’s features. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Regarding advertising identifiers, Apple now requires opt-in consent for the IDFA. We do not use your IDFA or track you across apps unless you explicitly allow it. If we integrate any ad tracking, we will request permission via the standard iOS prompt.

Analytics and Advertising SDKs

To improve and monetize the app, we may integrate standard SDKs:

  • Analytics: We use analytics tools that collect anonymous usage data (e.g. app launch events, feature usage). This is solely to help us understand how people use the app and to fix issues. Analytics data is not linked to you personally.
  • Advertising: If the app includes ads, we use common ad SDKs (such as Google AdMob). These SDKs may collect limited data (e.g. advertising ID, basic device info) to serve ads. They operate under their own privacy policies. Importantly, we do not provide advertisers with your Contacts or personal media. In any case, you can disable personalized ads by revoking tracking consent as noted above.

If we ever use other SDKs, we will update this policy and comply with all transparency requirements.

Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data. In summary:

  • Access & Correction: You can review or update personal data (if any) that we have about you. For example, you may edit your Contact list directly on your device. We do not maintain separate user profiles, so this is done in-app.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of any personal data we hold. If you request it, we will delete it promptly, as permitted by law. For example, if we had backed up any data (we generally do not), we would remove it.
  • Consent Withdrawal: If we rely on your consent for any processing, you may withdraw consent at any time (for instance, by disabling permissions on your device). This will not affect the lawfulness of processing done prior to withdrawal.
  • Do Not Sell: California users can opt out of any future sale of personal information; as we do not sell data, this right is informally provided.

To exercise these rights, please contact us (see Contact information below). We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law (for example, within 30 days under GDPR).

Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data. For instance, the secure folder uses strong encryption and the app encrypts any sensitive data at rest. We use industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption for any data transmitted over networks. We follow best practices (encryption, access controls, limited data access) to safeguard against unauthorized access or loss.

While we strive to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we regularly assess and update our security measures.

Children’s Privacy (Age Restriction)

The app is intended for users 13 years and older (or 16+ in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. In compliance with COPPA (US) and GDPR (EU), if we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child below the age threshold, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians should supervise their children’s use of the app and permissions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if we add new features or if laws change). We will post the revised policy on our website or app page, and update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes implies acceptance of the new policy.
